Consortium for Frontotemporal Dementia Research (CFR) investigators, trainees and external advisory board members from across the United States met at the J. David Gladstone Institutes in San Francisco, CA on April 3, 2012 for the 4th annual Discovery Meeting. Attendees were treated to a packed day of data sharing and discussion that included 18 research presentations, mostly by students and postdoctoral fellows. In addition to presentations on human frontotemporal dementia patient data, researchers reported significant discoveries in multiple frontotemporal dementia disease models, including mice, cultured cells, patient-specific induced pluripotent stem cell-derived neurons, C. elegans and yeast. The next CFR meeting will be in October 2012.
