Couple Hikes Appalachian Trail to Benefit FTD Research
March 14, 2014 - Brandon Cline and his girlfriend Katherine Vance set out this week to hike from Georgia to Maine to raise money for The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD). Brandon’s father, Larry Cline, died of FTD in September, 2012, and the couple will make the 2200 mile journey in his memory.
Brandon is no stranger to endurance travel and fundraising for FTD research. In 2009 he biked 3600 miles across the country and raised over $4,000 for the AFTD. Brandon and Katherine hope to raise $5,000 while thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail this summer. They will chronicle their journey on their blog.
